Paul Rudd in "Mask Up America" PSA.

 


The 51-year-old actor shot a public service announcement at the initiative of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as part of the Behind the Mask America campaign.

Rudd wore a sweatshirt, New York cap and headphones, wore a skateboard and spoke the language of the younger generation.

Rudd says, "I was talking to my friend, Governor Cuomo, on my iPhone, and he just says we have to wear masks for millennia because, you know, a lot of Covids have obviously been passed on by me for millennia."

"So Cuomes asks me, 'Paul, you have to help.' Who is 26 years old? "He said. Rudd in the video. "And I didn't fix it. So, fam, let's talk real. Mask, they're totally monsters. So slip it into your DMs and Twitch."

Sean Evans, host of the Hot Ones web series, is creating a cameo, pointing out that Rudd appears in an episode.

“This nation is still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, and young people are not being protected from it,” Cuomo said. "We all have to do our part and wear masks. We thank Paul Rudd for helping us spread this important message and reach out to young people like him."

The latest in a series of ads for a mask campaign featuring celebrities, including Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro.

The video was produced in collaboration with Rudd and Evans, in collaboration with Jane Rosenthal, producer and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises.
